The Ministry for Primary Industries provided funding to Flaxbourne Settlers Association (FSA) to investigate and understand the impact of the Kaikoura earthquake on the water resources within the Flaxbourne catchment.  Marlborough Research Centre assisted FSA by managing the contract on the Associations behalf. John Hickman (Chair), Jim Rudd and Locky Taylor were the local representatives on the working group and they were joined by Val Wadsworth (Hydrologist - Marlborough District Council) and Gerald Hope to make up the Committee overseeing the works completed. Jack McConchie of WSP provided invaluable guidance and John Patterson, Associate Marlborough Research Centre, provided the overall project management.

The meeting held at the Ward Hall on 29 July 2021 was a time for John Hickman to thank all the parties who assisted the community and for Jack McConchie of WSP to provide an overview of the work carried out and the findings of the last three years. The project reports and analysis can be accessed from our website along with the presentation made by Jack on behalf of the group.
