Dion Mundy, Senior Scientist at Plant & Food Research and lecturer at NMIT, has co-written ‘Grapevine Diseases of New Zealand’, a guide to the identification and management of diseases affecting grapevines.
At the book launch in Blenheim recently, Dion’s research was recognised as having made a significant contribution to the grape growing industry in NZ. “As a scientist his research in understanding and managing grapevine disease has made a significant difference in how grapes are grown in New Zealand and how they succeed over time.”
So it may come as no surprise that instigator Ian Harvey asked Dion to co-author the book. Both Dion and Ian Harvey from PLANTwise in Lincoln, are highly respected authorities on grapevine diseases and have drawn on their expertise and experience to produce a book that will become the main text for teaching students at NMIT, Lincoln University and throughout New Zealand.
