Recently we welcomed new staff member Susan Foster, who joined MRC as Office and Account Manager during Level 2 Lockdown.
Susan joins us from the aquaculture industry. What attracted her to the role at MRC are all the different facets of the job, the various organisations that are part of the campus, and the interesting projects.
“The role has so many different things going on. It is nice to come into an environment that actively builds and values relationships to connect business and research. I am looking forward to meeting everyone now that we are in Level 1”, she says.
She is looking forward to learning and interacting with the Marlborough District Council, and with MRC’s tenants.
Susan is a keen gardener. Her now established 15-year old one-acre block in Canvastown started from a bare paddock. You may be as surprised as we were that her favourite tool is her chainsaw, according to Susan it is a great stress reliever. On a fine day though you might see her biking on the route between Havelock and Picton or Pelorus. She has completed the grape ride, but with two teenage boys there is not enough time for training.
